Facilities and Durable Medical Equipment Manager- Full-time, Salaried


$25,000-$30,000 /year depending on experience


The Facilities manager will be responsible for managing and maintaining ETTAC’s facility and grounds, including janitorial duties; responding to needs of staff; accepting donations of durable medical equipment (DME); inspecting, cleaning, and repairing DME; distributing DME and instructing clients on the proper usage of DME.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

Building Repair and Maintenance:

  • Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate tools.
  • Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.).
  • Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.).
  • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, stairways, parking lots, and other work areas.
  • Orders parts and maintains required receipts and other documentation.
  • Performs other work related duties as assigned.

Durable Medical Equipment Loan Program
  • Works with Assistant Facility Manager to accept, inspect, clean, repair, and catalog donations of DME.
  • Works with Office Manager to ensure that DME is properly documented in the AT4ALL database as it enters the facility and is loaned out to clients.
  • Interacts with clients, caregivers, and case workers to asses DME needs, properly fit clients for DME, and train clients on the correct use of DME.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Education: Associates degree or higher education and/or job experience in the areas of facility management or grounds management.
  • Experience with and general knowledge of durable medical equipment (wheelchairs, hospital beds, Hoyer lifts, rollators, etc.) highly preferred.
  • Experience in planning, organization, and warehousing.
  • Ability to enter and retrieve data from online database (training provided).
  • Basic computer skills- knowledge of Microsoft Office suite preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC operations and repair.
  • Knowledge of the use of personal protective equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.)
  • Ability to work and communicate well with ETTAC staff and clients.
  • Commitment to organization mission and desire to learn the field.

  

Working conditions

 

This job operates in a professional office and warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This job will include indoor and outdoor tasks in a variety of weather conditions. This job is primarily during weekday hours (9am to 5pm) but may occasionally require evening or weekend work.

 

Physical requirements

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

 

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.
