Jim Sharp (December 8, 2014)
I awoke this morning and as I usually do I turned on our TV in our bedroom to watch the WBIR channel 10 news, and there I saw it. I knew that you were having a Christmas party last night but, I really didn’t know what it was all about until I saw the coverage that channel 10 showed this morning. The smiles on the children’s faces said it all. Also the gratitude expressed from each parent was truly priceless. It seems every year around Christmas time, everyone gets in the spirit of giving but, Lois you and the wonderful people at ETTAC keep the Christmas spirit of giving each day of the year. Now what I truly mean by that is, you give of yourself every day and you help to make other people’s lives so much better. From the youngest of our children, to our most special senior adults, ETTAC stands ready and willing to assist whenever possible. I myself, I feel am the perfect example of the difference that you are making each day in people’s lives. The life changing technology that ETTAC makes accessible to those that would most likely never know about or even be able to afford, is truly amazing. A year and a half ago, ETTAC provided me with this life changing technology and because of it; I am able to send you this email today. As simple as it might sound, I didn’t think that I would ever be able to send or receive emails after losing my vision but, after my visit to ETTAC last April, 2013, all of that changed. I don’t know if you realize it or not but, you not only make technology more accessible, you are also giving people “Hope” and isn’t that the greatest gift of all?
In closing I would just like to say thank you for myself and the thousands of people, young and old, that you have helped to realize their God given abilities and not focus so much on the disability that life has tried to give us.
Merry Christmas and May God Bless You,
